The Beginning

As a recent converter to single-ism, I have discovered that I am at a loss of what to do. The relationship ending was a good thing but I'm sad about the loss of company to which I had grown accustom. I find myself wandering the house looking for something to do or someone to talk to. While being really bored and flipping through the blogs I follow, I landed on my cousin's blog. She writes a blog entitled "Mommy magic". In this blog she gives lots of cute ideas for inexpensive crafts, date idea, Family Home Evening lessons, etc that you can do with children/family. Well being as I am single and have not yet started my own family, I thought the blog is cute but not applicable to me. Then it hit me! I could create a similar blog of fun, inexpensive things to do when you are single! So, with this in mind, I begin my journey of singleness! It is my hope that this blog will help me to focus my energy into something constructive before the feelings that can sometimes accompany being single catch hold. I plan on following President Uchtdorf's advice and rise to my potential and do the best I can.

An excerpt given by James E. Faust from the August 2007 issue of the Ensign: "It does not help to become so obsessed with the desire to be married that we miss blessings and opportunities for development while we are single. I also believe it would be helpful to set goals; without goals you cannot measure your progress. But don’t become frustrated because there are no obvious victories. Some things cannot be measured. If you are striving for excellence—if you are trying your best day by day with the wisest use of your time and energy to reach realistic goals—you will be a success whether you are married or single."

It is my goal that I will not miss blessings and opportunities to develop myself, to become the best that I can be, and hopefully discover new things about the world and myself that I never knew before! With that being said, if you have discovered something new or something that is fun, please comment. I would love to hear and get some new ideas!
